Cyberbullying or online bullying is a type of bullying that occurs online, it’s usually done by posting inappropriate videos and photos of someone or by making horrible comments over the internet. Sometimes bullies will take it as far as impersonating someone over the internet or making threats against their victims. The all point of cyberbullying is to make someone feel inferior, afraid, ashamed and most of all unhappy of being who he or she is. Since the internet and social media have become one of the most prominent places where this form of bullying happens, the victims are constantly tormented, and it seems that there is no end to it. Unfortunately, what even more heartbroken is that children develop depression, eating disorder, and in most cases, they commit suicide. The reason why I decided to talk about this particular topic its because it’s a subject that affect everyone, it the one area that no one can stop, and it is the one area that a lot of people just stand there and do nothing about it. Moreover, I feel like bullying children or anyone for that matter is extremely wrong and unethical because no one should be made fun of or judge for been himself or herself.

Hi Andrea,
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you that cyberbullying is still a huge problem concerning our society and the role that media do have on it. Cyberbullying acts can be even seen in gaming, for instance by sending threatening or offensive messages to other players or even insulting them throughout the entire game. In some cases these apparently usual activities can transform into something more dangerous and have drastic consequences on the person who received these messages. Therefore such phenomenon needs to be stopped soon and further measrues and initiatives to avoid it should be conducted in order to have more positive and respectful society, who knows about the huge potential that media do have.
Cheers,
Alessandro
